Orioles Veteran Reliever Kittredge Traded to Cubs Before Deadline
31 Jul
Summary
- Orioles trade veteran reliever Andrew Kittredge to the Cubs
- Kittredge is the fourth Orioles reliever traded this month
- Orioles also shipped infielder Ramon Urias to the Astros

In a move that continues the Baltimore Orioles' bullpen overhaul, the team has traded veteran right-handed relief pitcher Andrew Kittredge to the Chicago Cubs. Kittredge, 35, is the latest Orioles reliever to be dealt this month, joining Bryan Baker (Tampa Bay Rays), Gregory Soto (New York Mets), and Seranthony Dominguez (Toronto Blue Jays) as former members of Baltimore's bullpen who have been sent to other teams.
The return the Orioles received for Kittredge remains unknown at this time. Kittredge had a $9 million club option for the 2026 season and posted a 3.45 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and 32 strikeouts in 31.1 innings this year.
In addition to the Kittredge trade, the Orioles also shipped infielder Ramon Urias to the Houston Astros earlier in the evening. With the trade deadline looming on Thursday, other Orioles players who could be on the move include Cedric Mullins, Charlie Morton, Tomoyuki Sugano, Zach Eflin, and Ramon Laureano.
