Beavers Seek Redemption in Remaining Schedule After Dismal Start

As the 2025 college football season reaches Week 7, the Oregon State Beavers find themselves in a difficult position. The team is currently winless, having faced one of the toughest schedules in the nation so far. However, the Beavers are now poised to turn their season around, as they possess the easiest remaining schedule among all 136 NCAA Division I FBS programs, according to ESPN.

Head coach Trent Bray acknowledges the team's disappointing 0-6 start, but he remains optimistic about the team's ability to finish the season strong. "We're 0-6, that's disappointing," Bray said. "That's not where we thought we'd be or anything. What has to change is what we saw the last two weeks; we're in position to win games, and we're not making the plays to win those games."

In an effort to address the team's struggles, Bray and Oregon State have made a significant change, firing the special teams coordinator, Jamie Christian. The special teams performances have been a consistent detriment to the Beavers' on-field product, and Bray decided that six consecutive losses were enough to warrant the change.

As the Beavers prepare to face Wake Forest in Week 7, Bray is emphasizing the importance of finishing the season strong and building momentum for the future. "Finishing strong is the emphasis," Bray said. "Finishing this season out strong and the way we want it to go ... momentum moving forward is a good thing, that's no question."
