20 Jan
Summary
- Oleksandr Usyk is reportedly in talks with Zuffa Boxing, Dana White's new venture.
- Usyk has been a free agent since leaving his long-time promoter in June.
- A fight with Deontay Wilder remains a top priority for Usyk.

Oleksandr Usyk's team director, Sergey Lapin, has revealed ongoing discussions with Zuffa Boxing, Dana White's new venture set to launch. Usyk has been without a promoter since June, following his victory over Daniel Dubois, making him a prime target for Zuffa Boxing, which is partly owned by Turki Alalshikh, whom Usyk has previously worked with.
Lapin stated that contact and interest exist from White and Zuffa Boxing, hinting at potential unexpected moves if terms align. He noted White's proven ability to transform events into global spectacles. This interest comes as Usyk, the unified WBA, WBC, and IBF heavyweight champion, contemplates the significant fights ahead in his career.
The top of Usyk's wishlist remains a bout against Deontay Wilder. Despite earlier rumors of a July 11 fight, Wilder's manager confirmed no discussions had occurred with the initially suggested promotion. However, Lapin indicated that conversations with Wilder are progressing, though nothing is finalized.
