Ole Miss clinches series with late-game surge at Tennessee

Ole Miss secured a crucial series victory over Tennessee on Saturday, winning Game 2 by a score of 8-1. The Rebels' offense exploded for six runs in the ninth inning, breaking a tie and sealing the win at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. This marks a significant achievement for Ole Miss, as it is their first series victory at Tennessee since 2016.

Pitching dominated much of the contest. For Ole Miss, Cade Townsend delivered a strong performance, striking out seven over six innings without allowing a run. Tennessee's Tegan Kuhns also pitched effectively, recording 10 strikeouts in 5.2 scoreless innings. However, Ole Miss's late-game offensive surge ultimately proved decisive.

The series concludes on Sunday with the final game. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. EDT. Tennessee managed only two hits in Game 2, with Trent Grindlinger hitting a solo home run in the ninth.
