The 79th annual Louisville Invitational Tournament (LIT) will feature a significantly new look this year, with three boys basketball programs from Oldham County making their debut. North Oldham has secured the coveted No. 1 seed, marking a historic moment for the school and the county. South Oldham and Oldham County have also qualified, ensuring a strong county presence in the prestigious event.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from January 11th to January 17th at Valley High School. LIT director Troy Johnson expressed optimism about the additions, believing they will enhance the overall quality and competitiveness of the tournament. The inclusion of a 35-second shot clock, implemented last year, will continue to be a feature, contributing to a faster-paced game.
North Oldham, currently 8-4, surprisingly claimed the top seed despite a recent loss. Defending champions St. Xavier, ranked No. 2, will also compete, alongside other strong contenders like South Oldham and Butler. Oldham County enters as the No. 16 seed, rounding out the 16-team field determined by SETH Ratings.
