Mestemaker's decision to join Oklahoma State is bolstered by his prior relationship with head coach Morris, who was his coach at North Texas. He also reunites with offensive coordinator Sean Brophy, further easing his integration into the Cowboys' offensive system. Mestemaker enters his new role with three years of eligibility remaining.
The acquisition is crucial for Oklahoma State, which experienced considerable turnover at the quarterback position and suffered from a severely underperforming offense in the most recent season. Mestemaker's experience and proven ability offer immediate impact and potential for a revived offensive attack.
