Oklahoma Sooners gain new RB offer after decommitment
2 May
Summary
- Jaxsen Stokes, a 2027 running back commit, has decommitted from OU.
- Stokes has flipped his commitment to the Cal Golden Bears.
- Oklahoma has extended a new offer to 2027 RB Timmie "TJ" Lewis.

The Oklahoma Sooners football program experienced a change in its 2027 running back recruitment as Jaxsen Stokes decommitted from the team. Stokes, who had been a commit since November 7th, has now flipped his allegiance to the Cal Golden Bears. This departure led the Sooners to proactively extend an offer to another promising prospect.
The Sooners have now offered Timmie "TJ" Lewis, a three-star running back from Illinois. Lewis, standing at 6'0" and weighing 215 pounds, presents a more physical build for the position. He would be a valuable addition to the Sooners' 2027 class, which currently only has one running back committed, Keldric Ben.
While Rivals currently projects Lewis to commit to Indiana, Oklahoma's offer could significantly alter his recruitment. Lewis has already taken visits to Wisconsin and Indiana. The Sooners aim to secure visits to Norman to strengthen their pursuit of the talented running back.
