- The authenticated ball is priced at $10,000.
- 32% of the sale proceeds will go to the D-Backs Foundation.
Shohei Ohtani's remarkable performance has led the Arizona Diamondbacks to sell a baseball hit by the star player on June 2nd. The authenticated ball, from a game where Ohtani was close to achieving a cycle, is being offered for $10,000.
A significant portion of the sale, 32%, will benefit the D-Backs Foundation, with the remaining 68% retained by the team. This move underscores Ohtani's widespread appeal, boosting attendance and merchandise sales for any team he plays against.
Ohtani narrowly missed the cycle on June 3rd but has been on a hitting streak, batting .429 over his last 15 games. He also delivered an impressive pitching performance on Wednesday, throwing six scoreless innings.
His Cy Young campaign continues, though strong performances from other pitchers make him a long shot for the award.
