This year's auction saw proceeds exceeding established sale caps, offering significant additional support.
Peyton Courtright, an exhibitor from Fairfield County, achieved Reserve Grand Champion Market Lamb honors. Courtright's lamb was sold for $15,000, surpassing the initial sale cap of $9,000. Briley Ashcraft of Athens County secured the Grand Champion Market Goat title, with the animal selling for $30,000.
The auction serves as a vital fundraiser for youth development programs, with 100% of proceeds returning to participants through scholarships, FFA and 4-H programs, and other agricultural education opportunities. To date, the Virgil L. Strickler Youth Reserve Program has distributed over $5.6 million, benefiting more than 45,000 young people in Ohio.
