20 Oct
Summary
- OFI Crete previously defeated Hoffenheim at home.
- Bayer Leverkusen is second in their Europa League group.
- Leverkusen won their previous two Europa League matches.
OFI Crete welcomes Bayer Leverkusen for a Europa League fixture at Pankritio Stadium. The Greek team previously achieved a notable 2-0 victory over Hoffenheim at home, though they suffered a 2-1 defeat against Rennes in their most recent outing.
Bayer Leverkusen has demonstrated strong form in the Europa League, securing second place in the standings with two wins. They began their campaign with a 2-0 home win against Celje and followed up with a convincing 4-0 away victory over Lech Poznań.
In their domestic leagues, OFI Crete is seventh in the Greek Super League. Bayer Leverkusen is performing well in the Bundesliga, holding fourth place and contending near the top of the table.
The two clubs have met only once before, in a 1995 UEFA Intertoto Cup match where Bayer Leverkusen secured a 1-0 victory. Despite OFI Crete's home advantage and previous success against German opposition, Bayer Leverkusen is favored to win.
