Summary
- South Sydney Rabbitohs and NZ Warriors partner for NRLW player development.
- Players not in Warriors' NRLW squad can play for Souths.
- Souths contracted players gain train-and-trial access with Warriors.

A landmark partnership is set to revolutionize NRLW player development in 2026, with the South Sydney Rabbitohs and New Zealand Warriors joining forces. This unique agreement will provide crucial development opportunities for aspiring female players across both clubs, even though the Rabbitohs currently lack their own NRLW side.
Under the new arrangement, players not selected in the Warriors' weekly NRLW squad will be eligible to play for South Sydney in the Harvey Norman NSW women's premiership. Simultaneously, South Sydney-contracted players will have the chance to join the Warriors on a train-and-trial basis, offering a more direct pathway to professional NRLW careers.
Both club CEOs expressed significant enthusiasm for the collaboration. Warriors boss Cameron George hailed it as 'fantastic' for their women's programs, while South Sydney CEO Blake Solly emphasized the importance of providing elite pathways until the club establishes its own NRLW team.
