According to V'landys, the latest high-profile players to join R360 - Eels star Zac Lomax and Storm's Ryan Papenhuyzen - may not receive the promised compensation for their contracts. V'landys stated that he feels "very sorry" for these players, as they are being "used as guinea pigs" by the new league.
The ARL chief questioned whether R360 can truly "deliver" on its promises, and expressed concerns about the lack of "duty of care" and "due diligence" shown towards the players. V'landys reiterated that NRL players who break their contracts to join R360 will face a 10-year ban, though this stipulation does not apply to Lomax and Papenhuyzen, who were granted mutual contract terminations.
V'landys also vowed to speak with Broncos star Payne Haas, who has been linked with a move to the rebel league. The ARL boss emphasized that as "custodians of the game," they have a responsibility to protect the interests of the fans.
