Summary
- Nuno Espirito Santo sacked as Nottingham Forest head coach
- Relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis had deteriorated
- Forest seeking Nuno's replacement, with Ange Postecoglou a contender

Nottingham Forest has parted ways with head coach Nuno Espirito Santo after just 21 months in charge. The decision comes as the Portuguese manager's relationship with club owner Evangelos Marinakis had reportedly deteriorated in recent weeks.
Nuno took over at Forest in December 2023 and helped the club preserve their Premier League status that season. Last term, he guided them to a seventh-place finish, their highest in over 30 years, securing European football for the first time since 1996. However, despite this success, tensions between Nuno and Marinakis had been building, with the manager publicly acknowledging their relationship had changed and they were no longer as close.
The club has now moved to replace Nuno, with talks underway to appoint his successor. Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou is said to be a leading contender for the job. Forest currently sit 10th in the Premier League table after a 3-0 home defeat to West Ham before the international break.
In a statement, the club thanked Nuno for his "contribution during a very successful era" and said he would "always hold a special place" in their journey. The 51-year-old departs with a record of 28 wins, 20 draws, and 25 defeats from his 73 games in charge.
