Aggies Aim to Avenge Last Season's Loss Against Visiting Gamecocks
15 Nov
Summary
- No. 3 Texas A&M hosts South Carolina in crucial SEC matchup
- Aggies' QB Reed playing at Heisman level with 2,193 passing yards and 19 TDs
- Texas A&M's defense led by pass rush that has 34 sacks, faces weak Gamecocks O-line

On November 15, 2025, No. 3 Texas A&M (9-0, 6-0 SEC) returns to Kyle Field for the first time in over a month to host South Carolina (3-6, 1-6 SEC) in an early 11:00 a.m. kickoff. The Aggies are coming off their second consecutive 20-plus point blowout road win, defeating Missouri 38-17 last weekend, and continue to establish themselves as one of the best teams in college football.
However, Texas A&M cannot afford to overlook a lesser opponent late in the season, as South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer and veteran quarterback LaNorris Sellers would love nothing more than to pull off the upset. The Gamecocks defeated the Aggies 44-20 in Williams-Brice Stadium this time last year, a loss that essentially ended A&M's 2024 campaign and one that head coach Mike Elko and starting QB Marcel Reed have not forgotten.
Reed has been playing at a Heisman level this season, passing for an impressive 2,193 yards and 19 touchdowns, while also rushing for 368 yards and six scores. The Aggies' 23rd-ranked defense, led by a pass rush that has produced 34 sacks, will look to overwhelm South Carolina's offensive line, which has surrendered 33 sacks in nine games. Senior edge rusher Cashius Howell leads the SEC with 10.5 sacks and will aim to disrupt the Gamecocks' offense.
