Reddy's All-Round Fire Powers SRH in IPL 2026

Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Daniel Vettori has praised the versatile skill set of Nitish Kumar Reddy ahead of the team's first home game of the 2026 season against Lucknow Super Giants. Speaking on the eve of the match, Vettori highlighted that injury prevented Reddy from bowling last year, but the young cricketer is now eager to contribute across all departments. The coach noted that Reddy is the type of player who thrives on being fully involved in the game.

After starting the current campaign with a loss to defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Hyderabad bounced back with a dominant 65-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders. Reddy played a significant role in that win at Eden Gardens, where he claimed the wickets of Anukul Roy and Rinku Singh.

Vettori emphasized that the 22-year-old’s ability to bowl during various phases of an innings provides the team with valuable tactical flexibility. According to the coach, Reddy’s contributions during the middle overs have been particularly crucial, especially when conditions make it difficult to rely on spin. Having bowled two overs in each of the opening matches, Reddy is now expected to be a key figure as the team returns to Hyderabad. The coaching staff plans to continue utilizing his bowling based on specific match conditions and opponent lineups, as he finally gets the chance to showcase the all-round talent that has generated significant excitement within the camp.
