Bosa Out: 49ers Edge Rusher Sidelined vs. Seahawks
6 Oct
Summary
- Nick Bosa will miss the 49ers' game against the Seahawks due to a calf injury.
- This is Bosa's second consecutive missed game after a previous calf issue.
- Mykel Williams may return to team drills for the 49ers this week.
San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa will not play in the upcoming NFC West matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed on Monday that Bosa, along with James Thompson Jr., is not expected back this week.
Bosa has been sidelined due to a calf muscle issue that initially forced him out in September. His continued absence places additional pressure on the 49ers' edge rushers to generate pressure without their star player.
Adding a potential positive note for San Francisco, defensive lineman Mykel Williams is nearing a return. Shanahan indicated that Williams is expected to participate in team drills this week and could be activated if he practices successfully.
