The NFL's value has seen remarkable growth, with average franchise valuations now standing at $9.34 billion heading into the 2026 season. This represents a substantial 31% increase from the previous year, marking the largest single-year jump in at least a decade.
The Dallas Cowboys continue to lead the league in valuation, now worth $15.5 billion. They were the first pro sports team to reach a $10 billion valuation two years ago and have now surpassed the $15 billion mark.
Record-breaking transactions are also defining the current landscape. The Seattle Seahawks were recently sold for $9.6 billion, setting a new league purchase record. This sale signifies a 59% increase over the previous record set in July 2023.
Other notable valuations include the Cincinnati Bengals at $7.4 billion, making them the least valuable team for the seventh consecutive year. However, even this valuation exceeds that of many top global sports franchises outside the NFL.
The New York Giants, with a $12 billion valuation, saw a 17% gain, which is the smallest increase among the top-ranked teams. Meanwhile, the New York Jets and Atlanta Falcons both climbed three spots in the rankings, illustrating dynamic shifts in team value and market positioning.
