NFL Player Zack Moss Released After Neck Injury Setback
31 Jul
Summary
- NFL player Zack Moss released from team due to season-ending neck injury
- Wife Jessica shares emotional video about the news on TikTok
- Moss was a third-round draft pick in 2020, known for his physical running style

On July 30, 2025, the Ohio-based NFL team announced that 27-year-old player Zack Moss had been released. This news came just a day after Moss's wife, Jessica, had deemed it "one of the hardest weeks in his NFL career" on TikTok.
Moss had entered the 2025 training camp on the non-football injury list after suffering a season-ending neck injury in November 2024. In her TikTok video, Jessica shared that she received a text from Zack that morning informing her of his release from the team. While not entirely surprising given his injury, Jessica acknowledged that Moss's physical running style as a running back made neck injuries particularly severe in the NFL.
Despite the team's decision, Jessica emphasized that Moss's lack of talent was not the reason for his release. She noted that he was a great pass blocker, one of the key reasons the Cincinnati team had wanted him. Nonetheless, the team had their own reasons for the release, which Jessica said she would not dwell on.
Moss, who was entering his sixth year in the NFL, was originally selected in the third round by the Buffalo Bills in the 2020 draft. He met his wife Jessica while they were both attending the University of Utah, and the couple later wed in October 2022.
In the two months following his neck injury in November 2024, Moss had been limited to minimal movement while wearing a neck brace, per his doctor's request. This setback ultimately led to his release from the team just days before the 2025 season was set to begin.
