NFL North Divisions Make History!
26 Oct
Summary
- Eight NFL North teams are above .500 after Week 7.
- This is the first time in NFL history two divisions have all winning teams.
- All four NFC North teams would make playoffs as seeds or wild cards.
The National Football League is witnessing a historic parity among its northern divisions. For the first time ever, all eight teams in the AFC North and NFC North boast winning records as the season progresses past Week 7.
The AFC North contenders include the Browns, leading at 5-2, followed closely by the Steelers and Bengals, who also maintain winning records. The Ravens are currently 4-3, keeping the division competitive.
In the NFC, the Minnesota Vikings stand as the league's sole undefeated team at 6-0. Behind them, the Chicago Bears are 5-2, with the Detroit Lions at 4-2 and the Green Bay Packers at 4-3, positioning all NFC North teams favorably.
If the playoffs were to commence today, the NFC North would see all its teams qualify, with the Vikings as the top seed and the Bears, Lions, and Packers securing wild card spots. This remarkable divisional strength suggests many crucial matchups will occur late in the season.
