1 Sep
Summary
- Fans must use only clear plastic bags at the MCG.
- Outside food and drinks are strictly prohibited for attendees.
- The NFL's clear-bag policy aims to enhance safety and efficiency.
Fans heading to the upcoming NFL game at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) must comply with a strict clear-bag policy. The National Football League has updated its prohibited items list, allowing only clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags up to 12x12x6 inches, unless medically necessary. Small non-clear bags, like purses (4.5x6.5 inches), are also permitted.
In addition to the bag restrictions, fans are banned from bringing any outside food or beverages into the venue. This includes food items and all types of drink bottles, with only empty soft plastic bottles allowed for refilling. Computers, iPads, and luggage are also prohibited.
The NFL emphasizes that these rules are standard for US games and are implemented to prioritize fan safety and event security. Attendees are strongly encouraged to travel light, arrive early to navigate mandatory security screenings smoothly, and consult the NFL OnePass app for full details on permitted items.
