NFL free agency is less than a month away, presenting teams with opportunities to enhance their rosters, particularly at the cornerback position. This year's free agent cornerback class includes multiple players whose rookie contracts are expiring, making them available for the first time. While no undisputed stars headline the group, several players offer considerable talent and could be valuable additions.
Greg Newsome II, a 2021 first-round pick, spent his initial four seasons with the Cleveland Browns before being traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars in October. In 2025, he recorded 52 total tackles, one interception, and nine pass breakups. Seahawks corner Riq Woolen is also set to hit free agency. He started seven of 16 games in 2025, accumulating 41 tackles, an interception, and 12 pass breakups, showing promise despite his rookie season being his most impactful.
Veteran Jamel Dean, the oldest on the list, is nearing 30 and is coming off his most productive season with the Buccaneers, posting 46 tackles, a sack, two forced fumbles, and three interceptions. Alontae Taylor of the Saints, who has flown under the radar, recorded 83 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, and 11 pass breakups in 2025. Lastly, Jaylen Watson led the available corners with 64 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions, and six pass breakups, earning recognition as PFF's 17th-highest graded corner.
