Newcastle United rocked by illness before Man Utd showdown

Newcastle United's preparations for their crucial midweek clash against Manchester United have been thrown into disarray due to a sickness outbreak. The Magpies are grappling with a depleted squad, with a significant concern surrounding star striker Nick Woltemade. The German forward has been absent from training for several days, jeopardizing his availability for the high-stakes fixture.

The illness reportedly began during the recent Everton match, where Jacob Ramsey had to be substituted. While Ramsey has since recovered, Woltemade's condition remains a worry for manager Eddie Howe. The team is desperate to turn around their recent slump in Premier League form following a disappointing 3-2 home defeat to Everton last weekend. The timing of this outbreak could not be worse for Newcastle as they prepare to face Manchester United.
