Nelly Korda, a seasoned professional golfer, is deliberately scaling back her participation in LPGA Tour events this season. Reflecting on her decade-long career, Korda, now 27, acknowledged the physical toll and the necessity of prioritizing rest. She explained that taking breaks is crucial to prevent fatigue from accumulating mid-season. "If I don't take time off that's going to catch up to me in the middle of the season," Korda stated.
Her current appearance at the Fortinet Founders Cup marks her second event of the year, where she is in contention after a strong third round on Saturday, March 21. Korda's strategic scheduling aims to give her body the optimal conditions to avoid injury and maintain peak performance. Last season, she competed in 19 tournaments and made every cut, demonstrating her consistent skill.
The Fortinet Founders Cup is scheduled to conclude on Sunday, March 22, with Korda set to play in the final round. She is currently in solo second place, trailing leader Hyo Joo Kim by four strokes.
