North Texas has officially named Neal Brown as the next head football coach for its program. Brown, 45, possesses extensive coaching experience, including six years at West Virginia and four years at Troy. He most recently served as a special assistant at Texas this past season.
Brown steps into the role vacated by Eric Morris, who is departing for Oklahoma State. However, Morris will continue to coach the Mean Green through the American Conference Championship Game and any subsequent College Football Playoff appearances.
During his tenure at West Virginia, Brown achieved a 37-35 overall record across six seasons. Prior to that, he led Troy to 35 victories and three bowl wins in four years, securing a Sun Belt title.
