Summary
- NBL26 individual awards nominations are out.
- Coaches and captains cast final votes this week.
- Awards night scheduled for Monday, February 23rd.
The National Basketball League (NBL) has announced the nominees for its prestigious individual awards, marking the official start of the NBL26 honours race. Coaches and captains from all ten teams will cast the decisive votes this week, with a restriction preventing them from voting for their own club's players.
These nominations cover several key categories, including the Most Valuable Player (MVP), Next Generation Award, Best Sixth Man, Defensive Player of the Year (Damian Martin Trophy), and Most Improved Player. An expert panel determined these initial nominees.
Further accolades include the Coach of the Year (Lindsay Gaze Trophy), All-NBL Teams, Fans' MVP, and the Gametime by Kmart Award. The league will also announce the Executive of the Year and Referee of the Year. Finalists for each category will be revealed after voting concludes.
The Andrew Gaze MVP Awards Night is set to be broadcast live on Monday, February 23rd, commencing at 7:30 PM AEDT.
