NASCAR Truck Race Hit by Rain Delay at Charlotte
23 May
Summary
- NASCAR Truck Series race at Charlotte delayed due to rain.
- Original start time was moved up to avoid storms.
- Practice and qualifying were canceled earlier on race day.

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race scheduled for May 22 at Charlotte experienced a weather delay due to rain. Organizers had initially moved the start time up to 7 p.m. local time in an effort to complete the event before a forecast wave of storms arrived.
However, light rain began to fall on the track, leading to the trucks being brought down pit road after completing several pace laps. Earlier in the day, both practice and qualifying sessions for the Truck Series were canceled as a result of the adverse weather.
The event also included a moment of silence and a tribute to NASCAR driver Kyle Busch, who tragically passed away on May 21. Busch had won the preceding Truck Series race on May 15 at Dover in the No. 7 Chevrolet.
