NASCAR Star Finds Bigger Rush in Hunting

NASCAR driver Chase Briscoe has found that deer hunting provides an adrenaline rush that rivals, and he believes surpasses, his racing career. Briscoe explained that the frequency of his 38-race NASCAR schedule has made the adrenaline of racing feel commonplace. In contrast, hunting offers a unique thrill he finds addictive.

Briscoe's connection to the outdoors began with fishing at his grandfather's pond in Indiana during his childhood. This early enjoyment evolved into fishing with friends throughout high school. His pursuit of hunting started later after moving to North Carolina and acquiring property rich with deer, a venture he quickly fell in love with.

Beyond the excitement, hunting offers Briscoe a significant personal escape. He values the quiet solitude of being outdoors, especially with three young children and the demands of his racing career. This peaceful retreat allows him to disconnect from the constant chaos of his life.

Briscoe is actively introducing his four-year-old son, Brooks, to hunting, who has shown remarkable enthusiasm. Brooks has already experienced success, reportedly bagging his first buck on his inaugural hunting trip with his father, and independently taking a doe in a subsequent season. Briscoe sees these outdoor experiences as crucial for creating lasting family memories, a departure from his own cherished childhood fishing trips.

Looking ahead, Briscoe expresses a desire to experience an elk or mule deer hunt out west, drawn by the different terrain and challenge. He is particularly fascinated by the prospect of archery hunting for elk. Should this opportunity arise, he anticipates his son Brooks would be an eager companion for such an adventure, given his energy and developing passion for the outdoors.
