Vergara Debuts as Napoli Seek Serie A Momentum

Napoli is seeking to regain winning form after three consecutive draws in Serie A. The team has seen its lead shrink due to these stalemates. Antonio Conte is serving a two-match touchline ban and watches from the stands as an injury crisis continues to affect squad rotation and player fatigue. Several key players, including Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne, are out injured.

Young academy product Antonio Vergara is handed his first Serie A start for Napoli, with Eljif Elmas supporting striker Rasmus Hojlund. Juan Jesus returns from suspension to bolster the defense. Napoli's current form, marked by recent draws against Verona, Inter, and Parma, puts pressure on the team to secure points.

Sassuolo, who were promoted after winning Serie B last season, are mid-table but have also struggled recently, with three draws in their last six matches. They are missing star player Domenico Berardi due to a serious injury, along with several other key squad members. Both teams are contending with significant personnel issues heading into this fixture.
