Napoli Agree €50M Deal to Sign Manchester United's Højlund
30 Aug
Summary
- Napoli to pay €6M loan fee with €44M obligation to make move permanent
- Højlund excluded from Manchester United's squad for recent match
- Højlund keen to play regularly ahead of 2026 World Cup

In a significant transfer development, Napoli have reached an agreement with Manchester United to sign striker Kasper Højlund. According to the details, the Serie A side will initially pay a loan fee of €6 million, with an obligation to make the move permanent for €44 million if they qualify for the Champions League.
Højlund, the 22-year-old Danish international, has not been involved in any of United's first four games of the current 2025-26 season and was last seen as a substitute in the final preseason match against Everton last month. His continued exclusion from the squad under manager Ruben Amorim, coupled with the arrival of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, has prompted Højlund to seek a move away from Old Trafford.
The player, who has previous experience playing in Italy with Atalanta, is keen to secure regular playing time ahead of the 2026 World Cup. If the transfer to Napoli is completed, Højlund will link up with former United teammate Scott McTominay, who made the move to Italy 12 months ago.
