Moyes: Man Utd Lost Ferguson's Values

Former Manchester United manager David Moyes has stated that the club has strayed from the values instilled by Sir Alex Ferguson. He believes this cultural shift has created instability, impacting his own tenure over a decade ago and continuing to affect the club's current management. Moyes noted that Manchester United once had a strong culture of sticking with managers and nurturing academy talent, characteristics he feels are now diminished.

Moyes, who managed United for less than 11 months, feels he was not afforded the time crucial for success. He pointed out that no manager since Ferguson has had more than two full seasons, indicating a lack of patience from the board. Additionally, Moyes highlighted that he inherited an aging squad with key players nearing the end of their careers and faced significant competition from financially strong rivals like Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal.

He contends that a managerial change at United should have been an evolution, not a revolution, requiring substantial time to implement. Moyes suggested that the days of long-term planning at Manchester United may be over, contrasting with the enduring legacy built by Sir Alex Ferguson. The club also struggled with recruitment during his brief spell, missing key transfer targets.
