Dembele: Celtic move was dream realized

Moussa Dembele, a former Celtic striker now playing for Al-Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia, has spoken fondly about his time at Parkhead. He arrived in 2016 as a young, relatively unknown player and quickly became a fan favourite, notably scoring a hat-trick in his first Glasgow derby. Dembele scored 51 goals for the Hoops during his spell.

Reflecting on his career move, Dembele stated that joining Celtic was a monumental step. He described playing for the giant club, competing in the Champions League, and playing in front of 60,000 fans as a dream come true. The French forward believes that the team, including players and staff, were too caught up in the fast-paced fixture schedule to fully realize their accomplishments at the time.

It was only after he left Celtic for Lyon in 2018 that Dembele truly comprehended the magnitude of what he and the team had achieved. He looks back on his time in Glasgow as a special period, recalling the experiences as if they were recent.
