Mourinho Confident Chelsea Can Win Champions League This Season

According to former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, the club is back on track and has the potential to win the Champions League this season. Mourinho, who won five trophies with Chelsea in two spells as head coach, had previously expressed doubts about the club's strategy under the current regime of buying young players. However, he now believes Chelsea has turned a corner under head coach Enzo Maresca.

Mourinho cited Chelsea's UEFA Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup wins last season as evidence of the club's turnaround. He acknowledged that the Conference League is an "easy competition to win with a big club," but the Club World Cup victory, the first time a club has won the expanded tournament, was a significant achievement. Despite his long history with Chelsea, Mourinho says he will be fully focused on helping his current team, Benfica, beat his former club when the two teams meet on Tuesday night.
