Speed Demon Morabito: Stolen Bases & Future Potential
19 Nov, 2025
Summary
- Morabito boasts exceptional speed, with 108 stolen bases over two seasons.
- His future hinges on reaching base, achieving a .348 OBP at Double-A.
- A converted shortstop, Morabito is adapting to center field.
Morabito's most significant asset is his remarkable speed, evidenced by his impressive 108 stolen bases accumulated over two seasons across three Minor League levels. His performance in the Arizona Fall League further highlighted this, where he swiped 16 bases in just 17 games.
His potential as a leadoff hitter at the highest level is considerable, but it will be contingent on his capability to reach base consistently. This past season at Double-A Binghamton, he posted a .348 on-base percentage, though his power numbers were modest.
Defensive prowess is also crucial to his development. Morabito is a converted shortstop who has adapted well to center field. However, securing this position may prove challenging with the presence of Carson Benge, a highly-touted prospect.
