Summary
- Monza shows interest in signing Manuel Lazzari from Lazio.
- Lazzari's role diminished under the new manager.
- Monza seeks experienced reinforcements for Serie A return.
Manuel Lazzari is reportedly nearing the end of his seven-year tenure at Lazio, with Serie B champions Monza expressing interest in his transfer. Lazzari, who was once a key player in Simone Inzaghi's tactical setup, saw his role diminish significantly under Maurizio Sarri and is not expected to feature in Gennaro Gattuso's plans for the upcoming season.
Lazio's decision to renew Adam Marusic's contract and the anticipated return of Romano Floriani Mussolini from loan leave Lazzari as surplus to requirements. This situation presents an opportunity for Monza, who are keen to reinforce their squad ahead of their return to the top flight.
Monza, recently promoted after winning the Serie B playoffs, are targeting experienced players to bolster their team. Alfredo Pedulla reports that the club views Lazzari as an ideal fit due to his substantial Serie A experience and proven ability to contribute quality to a squad.
Lazzari's current contract with Lazio extends until June 2027, suggesting he could be available for a modest transfer fee. The player may opt to wait for further offers before making a final decision on his future.
