On Thursday, March 12th, Sweden's pole vault sensation Mondo Duplantis achieved yet another world record, soaring to a height of 6.31 meters at the Mondo Classic indoor meeting held in Uppsala. This remarkable feat surpassed his previous record by a single centimeter, demonstrating his continued mastery of the sport.
Duplantis navigated the competition flawlessly, making no failed attempts en route to his record-breaking clearance. He opened at 5.65 meters, progressed to 5.90 meters, then cleared 6.08 meters before achieving the historic 6.31 meters.
Notably, the pole vault discipline uniquely combines indoor and outdoor performances under a single world record. Duplantis's latest triumph signifies the 15th time he has rewritten the world record books since first establishing it in 2020.
Following Duplantis, Norway's Sondre Guttormsen secured second place with a clearance of 6.00 meters, his second successful six-meter vault this season. Americans Zachery Bradford and Sam Kendricks, alongside Australia's Kurtis Marschall, each cleared 5.90 meters to claim third through fifth places, respectively.
