The state tournament brackets have been set for Minnesota's top girls' basketball teams. Willmar, New London-Spicer (NLS), and Central Minnesota Christian (CMCS) have learned their initial matchups and seeding. Willmar enters the Class AAA tournament as the No. 8 seed and will face No. 1 Stewartville on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Maturi Pavilion.
In Class AA, the NLS Wildcats secured the No. 3 seed and are scheduled to play No. 6 Minnehaha Academy on Wednesday at 8 p.m., also at the Maturi Pavilion. Meanwhile, CMCS earned the sixth seed in Class A and is set to compete against No. 3 Kelliher-Northome on Thursday at 5 p.m. at the same venue. Seeds were determined through a confidential voting process by coaches participating in the tournament.
Class AAA games begin Wednesday, with Class AA split between Maturi Pavilion and Williams Arena. Class A play commences Thursday at Maturi Pavilion. Semifinals for all classes will be held Friday, with championship games concluding on Saturday. The Maturi Pavilion and Williams Arena on the University of Minnesota campus will host the majority of the state tournament games.
