Finnish basketball talent Miikka Muurinen has departed from Partizan Belgrade, concluding a significant six-month period focused on professional development. Muurinen sought this experience to immerse himself in professional basketball and learn from a highly regarded coach.
He reflected positively on his time under legendary coach Željko Obradović, describing him as the best coach he has encountered and appreciating the demanding yet supportive environment. Muurinen acknowledged that his playing time under the new coach, Joan Penarroya, presented challenges.
Muurinen clarified that his arrangement with Partizan, including coach Obradović, was for a single year before he planned to move to the U.S. He suggested this understanding might not have been shared by the current coaching staff.
