Michigan Coach Taps into Legendary Saban's Winning Wisdom

As of November 11th, 2025, Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore has been actively seeking guidance from one of the most successful college football coaches of all time - Nick Saban.

Moore, who is in his second full season as the Wolverines' head coach, has led the program to a 16-7 record so far. However, he understands the value of learning from experienced mentors, which is why he has been regularly connecting with Saban.

According to Moore, he tries to call the former Alabama Crimson Tide coach every one to two months to pick his brain. While Saban may not always seem eager to talk at first, Moore says that once he gets going, the advice and insights he provides are invaluable.

In fact, Moore even shared a humorous anecdote about a conversation he had with Saban following Michigan's thrilling Rose Bowl victory over Alabama in 2024. Saban admitted that he "really didn't like" the Wolverines' game plan, as they shifted in motion on every play, which he found "annoying."
