Forward Michael Obafemi has joined Blackpool on a loan deal from Premier League club Burnley, extending until the conclusion of the current season. This move marks Obafemi's return to Lancashire after a brief loan spell in Germany's 2. Bundesliga with Vfl Bochum, where he made three appearances.
Obafemi, a Republic of Ireland international with 12 caps, previously played for Southampton, Swansea, and Burnley, accumulating 16 appearances for the latter. He has also had loan spells in the Championship with Millwall and Plymouth Argyle. He expressed his eagerness to score goals and contribute to Blackpool's ascent in the league standings.
Blackpool manager Ian Evatt welcomed the signing, highlighting Obafemi's talent and his desire to prove himself. Evatt believes the player's determination will be beneficial for the team, which is currently 20th in League One.
