His exceptional performance was highlighted by a dramatic 24-foot putt for birdie on the 18th hole, capping off a streak of birdies on his final four holes. This remarkable score propelled him to 14-under par for the tournament.
Kim's previous career-low round was 62. He also achieved a streak of five consecutive birdies starting on the third hole and added three more birdies in a four-hole stretch from the ninth. Prior to this, Kim’s best finish in 12 tournaments was second at the Valero Texas Open in April, with a subsequent best finish of 17th and four missed cuts, including the last three weeks.
