Chennai Super Kings, a five-time IPL champion, has decided to part ways with batting coach Michael Hussey. This decision was made by the franchise management as part of their strategic planning for the upcoming IPL 2027 season. Hussey had been a part of the CSK coaching staff since 2018, following a successful playing career with the team.
This departure follows earlier changes in the CSK coaching team, including Stephen Fleming being replaced by Zaheer Khan and bowling coach Eric Simmons being removed. The future of fielding coach James Foster is also reportedly uncertain, and the search for Hussey's successor as batting coach is ongoing.
There is speculation that Michael Hussey might join the England Test coaching setup, potentially working alongside Stephen Fleming, who is set to coach England in Tests. Hussey has prior experience with England, having served as a consultant during their T20 World Cup win in 2022.
