Parsons Questions NFL Draft Drill Relevance
26 Mar
Summary
- Micah Parsons doubts pre-draft drills translate to NFL success.
- Top prospects Rueben Bain and Arvell Reese participated in questioned drills.
- Parsons, a former Cowboy, is now with the Green Bay Packers.

Green Bay Packers pass rusher Micah Parsons has voiced doubts regarding the efficacy of pre-draft drills in evaluating NFL talent. He recently commented on social media that specific drills observed at Pro Days do not translate to on-field football performance. This statement was made in response to images of top prospects Rueben Bain and Arvell Reese participating in such exercises.
While Parsons' critique focused on drills, the game tape for both Bain and Reese reportedly demonstrates significant football skills. Bain, a defensive lineman for the Miami Hurricanes, recorded nine and a half sacks last season and was a key player in their College Football Playoff run. Arvell Reese, a linebacker for the Ohio State Buckeyes, also had a strong junior season with 69 total tackles and six and a half sacks. Both are considered top defensive pass-rushing prospects for the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.
Parsons himself has had a notable career, transitioning from the Dallas Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers in August of last year. He maintains a streak of double-digit sack seasons, despite suffering a torn ACL in Week 15 of the 2025 season. He earned a Pro Bowl selection for 2025 and is expected to return to full form for the 2026 season with the Packers.
