Summary
- Dolphins coach Ryan Crow accused of choking woman
- Incident occurred at apartment complex in Fort Lauderdale
- Crow pleaded not guilty to domestic battery charge

On August 28, 2025, Miami Dolphins outside linebackers coach Ryan Crow was involved in a domestic dispute at an apartment complex in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. According to a 911 call obtained by TMZ, a witness reported that Crow "started choking his girl outside" and then the couple went back inside, where the witness heard "him slam her."
Crow, 37, was arrested and charged with one count of domestic battery for allegedly touching or striking the woman. He was booked into the Broward County Main Jail and released on $1,000 bond the following day, with a judge ordering him to stay away from the woman.
Crow pleaded not guilty to the charge on September 2, 2025. The incident report states that the dispute began with "a verbal argument about past relationships" that "escalated to a physical altercation when [Crow] intentionally shoved [the woman] out of anger." Multiple witnesses reported seeing Crow allegedly choke and slap the woman, though she did not report any injuries and refused to provide a sworn statement.
In response, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel announced on September 4, 2025, that Crow would be placed on indefinite administrative leave. "Rule No. 1 for our team is protect the team ... and that one was violated," McDaniel told reporters. Senior defensive assistant Sean Ryan will coach the team's outside linebackers in Crow's absence.
