In their 4-1 victory over the New England Revolution last weekend, the Argentine superstar recorded three more assists, moving him to 17 for the season and just one behind the league leader, Anders Dreyer of San Diego.

Messi's assists were crucial in the win, with two of them going to his fellow Argentine striker Tadeo Allende, while the other was for his former Barcelona teammate Jordi Alba, who also scored twice.
