On November 14, 2025, it was reported that French football stars Kylian Mbappe and Eduardo Camavinga have withdrawn from the France national team squad due to injuries. Mbappe, 26, is experiencing inflammation in his right ankle, which requires further assessment, while Camavinga, 23, has sustained a muscle strain to his left hamstring.
Despite these setbacks, Real Madrid sources have indicated that both players are expected to be fit and available for the club's La Liga fixture against Elche on November 23. Camavinga has since undergone tests in Madrid, and the injury is not considered serious.
The French Football Federation (FFF) confirmed that the two players will miss Sunday's final World Cup qualifier against Azerbaijan. Mbappe played the full 90 minutes and scored twice during France's win against Ukraine, which secured the country's qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger and midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni remain doubts to face Elche as they continue their recovery from their respective muscular injuries. The Spanish club currently sits atop the La Liga table, having won 10 of their opening 12 games. After the Elche match, they will face Olympiacos in the Champions League.
