2 Oct
Summary
- Massillon Tigers have an unexpected bye week in Week 7.
- Their scheduled opponent, Farrell, canceled the game last month.
- The undefeated Tigers resume play next Friday against Cornerstone Christian.
The Massillon Tigers, enjoying an undefeated season through their first six weeks, will have an unexpected bye week. Their Week 7 game against Farrell, Pennsylvania, was canceled last month at Farrell's request, leaving the Tigers without an opponent for tonight's scheduled contest at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium.
The 6-0 Tigers are set to return to action next Friday, October 9th. They will host Cornerstone Christian, a team hailing from Texas, for a 7 p.m. game. This unexpected break comes as Massillon holds the second position in Division II, Region 7 of the OHSAA computer ratings. The top four teams in each region are awarded a first-round bye in the playoffs and will host their second-round games.
