Miller's Unstoppable 2026: Cy Young Closer?

San Diego Padres closer Mason Miller has delivered a dominant performance at the start of the 2026 MLB season. He has yet to allow a run across eight outings and has already recorded five saves.

Miller's command on the mound is evident, with 20 strikeouts in a mere 8.1 innings pitched. His impressive pitching has made him a standout player for the Padres, who currently hold a 12-6 record.

During a recent appearance on MLB Network, Miller emphasized his confidence and focus on present performance rather than past success. He stated that every pitcher must approach each game with a winning mindset.

The star reliever's exceptional pitching has led to speculation that he could be a contender for the National League Cy Young Award in 2026. However, Miller maintains that his primary goal is to contribute to the team's success and win games.

The Padres are scheduled to host the Seattle Mariners on Thursday, April 17, 2026. The game is set to begin at 8:40 PM EST in San Diego.
