Mark Mitchell Returns to Missouri After Kentucky Stint

Mark Mitchell, formerly of the Missouri Tigers, has reversed his decision to attend Kentucky and will instead return to play for Missouri. This development comes after Mitchell initially transferred to Kentucky, a move facilitated by a Kentucky judge granting him a fifth year of eligibility.

The NCAA's revised eligibility rules in June allowed players five seasons across five years, but Mitchell's high school class of 2022 was not grandfathered in, leading to his involvement in the Kentucky lawsuit. His agent confirmed he did not sign an exhibit-10 contract, exempting him from SEC rules against returning college athletes who sign professional deals.

Mitchell had committed to Kentucky on August 22nd, but the SEC's intraconference-transfer rule initially prevented his official enrollment with the Wildcats. He averaged 18.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game during the 2025-26 season with Missouri. He is now set to join a talented Tigers roster, bolstering their depth for the upcoming season which begins November 3rd.
