Crawford Injured, Mariners Shuffle Lineup
1 Aug
Summary
- J.P. Crawford is on the 10-day injured list due to a hand injury.
- Leo Rivas has been called up from Triple-A to replace Crawford.
- Several other Mariners players are nearing their return from injuries.

The Seattle Mariners have placed third baseman/shortstop J.P. Crawford on the 10-day injured list due to a hand injury that has kept him out of recent games. INF Leo Rivas has been called up from Triple-A Tacoma to take Crawford's place on the roster. Rivas provides defensive flexibility and a switch-hitting option off the bench for the Mariners.
Crawford's injury is a setback, especially given his history of OBP success, although his production has been inconsistent in the second half of 2026. Mariners GM Justin Hollander indicated Crawford will be sidelined for "a few weeks" after receiving an injection.
In more positive news, UTIL Brendan Donovan is set to rejoin the team for their series starting August 4th. Additionally, pitchers Carlos Vargas, Cooper Criswell, and Matt Brash are nearing their returns between mid-August and early September. Minor injuries to Ryan Bliss and Felnin Celesten are being monitored, while Brock Moore's issue is deemed less concerning.
