Marcell Ozuna has reportedly agreed to a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates worth $12 million. The deal, which is pending the results of a physical examination, includes salary specifics for the 2026 season and a mutual option for 2027.
This signing addresses a key need for the Pirates, who struggled offensively with the fewest home runs in the league last season. Ozuna, a three-time All-Star, brings a proven track record of power hitting.
Last season, Ozuna batted .232 with 21 homers for the Atlanta Braves. This represents a decrease from his strong 2024 performance. He is a decorated player with multiple Silver Slugger awards and a past Gold Glove winner.
